Dorothy Constance Little, 93 of Berwick passed away on Wednesday April 5 2017 at Mountain Lea Lodge in Bridgetown Nova Scotia. She was born in Colchester County England on September 21, 1923 to the late Henry North and Ethel (Carter) North. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her family. She came to Canada as a war bride with her young son in 1943. Dorothy was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church and MacPherson Auxiliary. The Church was a very big part of her life and she was a shining example of Christian faith. Dorothy was a very special lady who was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed knitting, reading and playing cards. She loved her tea as a proper British lady and was often seen riding her bicycle through the town. Those who knew Dorothy appreciated her ability to make you feel welcome and how she extended her hand with kindness and gratitude regardless if you were a family member or a friendly face. Close relatives will never forget her cookies and especially rainbow squares, even mailing them across the country. Her family stretched far beyond the named relatives as many people called her mom and grammy. Friends of family were family too. She will be greatly missed by many, her legacy of love and kindness will live on and she will be deeply missed by a community she gave so much of herself to. She is survived by her children Valerie (Wayne) Patterson, Robert, Patricia (Howard) Olmstead, Arthur, Pamela (Eric) Pinner, Jacqueline (Xavier) Infantas, daughter-in-law Louise, 23 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ivan, son Ronald, and two grandchildren. A visitation will take place at the Berwick Funeral Chapel on Saturday April 8th from 6:00pm – 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on April 9th, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Berwick Baptist Church with Pastor Evan and Pastor Kayla Colford officiating. Interment will be in the Berwick Cemetery with immediate family only. Memorial donations may be made to World Vision or the charity of one’s choice. Family Flowers only. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Berwick Chapel, 192 Commercial Street Berwick (902-538-9900).
