Obituary of Frederick Leigh Hunt

Please share a memory of Frederick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Frederick Leigh Hunt on May 1st, 2017 at Valley Regional Hospital. With his family surrounding him, Fred went on to start his next life in the same manner as he lived his life here on earth; quietly and peacefully. Fred served in the RCAF in the communications field and as a Signaler with the militia at 723 Squadron Halifax where retired from the Army as a Warrant Officer in 1983. While serving as a Reservist, he also served 35 years as a communications technician with the CBC and was proud to have started his career at the same time as CBC Nova Scotia first aired. A great father, Fred is survived by his daughter Judy MacAulay, her son Craig and his wife Marci, their children, Lawson and Breelynn, Judy's daughter Tracie and his son Leigh Hunt, his wife Wanda, along with their children Matthew and Andrew. Fred is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Elva Hunt (nee Riley) as well as his children's mother, Joan Hunt (nee Ferguson). In 1996, he happily married his wife, Betty Lou Hunt (nee Cleversey (Bagley)) and the happy couple were inseparable for the next 20 years, having many adventures together. Reminiscent of the Brady Bunch, Fred took under his wing the "Bagley Bunch", all the extended family members that entailed, and was a wonderful step-father to them all. As such, he is also survived by his wife Betty and her children; Lou-Anne Bidal (Bagley) her husband Tim Pelletier and son Cameron Bidal; Laura-Lea McKay (Bagley) and her husband Jonathan; Melanie Haakman (Bagley) her husband Jan and sons Spencer and Ethan, and Matthew Bagley, his wife Ramona and sons Lauchlan and Caiden. Fred is also survived by his mother-in-law Doris Cleversey (nee Llewellyn). A celebration of his life will be held at Lockhartville Baptist Church at 2pm on Sunday, May 21st, 2017 with Pastor Debbie officiating In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in remembrance of Fred to the Lockhartville Baptist Church or the Hantsport District Lion's Club through Serenity Funeral Home in Kentville NS. Cards and letters may be sent to 985 Bluff Rd Hantsport NS B0P 1P0.
