It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Joseph Gaudet of Hillgrove, on May 7, 2017 at home, surrounded by love. Born in Saulnierville in 1945, Richard was the son of the late Fred and Anne Marie Gaudet (Comeau). He is survived by his wife Cheryl; daughter Shelley (David Downey), Toronto; son Jonathan, Toronto; sisters Marguerite (Laurent) Haché, St. Isidore, NB; Carol Anne (Alain) Deveau, Meteghan and Janice (Steven Powers) Little Brook Station; brothers Paul, Saulnierville and Eloi (Linda), Windsor; sisters-in-law Kathy Simms, Doucetteville; Colleen Simms, Barton; brothers-in-law Tim Simms and Bryan Simms, both of Barton; stepmother-in-law Molly Simms, Doucetteville and two generations of nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his little buddy, Bambi the dog. He was predeceased by brother Ralph and grandnephew, Benjamin Gourley. A funeral mass celebrating Richard's Life of Giving will be held at 12:00 on May 19th at St Patrick's Church, 110 Queen Street, Digby. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. He will forever be in our hearts. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822).
