Alexander Gavin Ritchie, 34 of Millville passed away on May 21, 2017. He was born May 7, 1983 to Michael John Ritchie, currently of Hall Road, Millville, Kings County and Catherine O'Connell of Cape Sable Island, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia. Alex was a graduate of Horton High School and worked at Atlantic Superstore in New Minas after graduation. He was a client of The Flower Cart Workshop in New Minas and participated in Special Olympics on the curling team. In recent years, he had lived and worked in Calgary, Alberta, then returned to the Annapolis Valley where he lived with his father. Alex loved people and had many friends. He enjoyed camping and spent many summers at the LaHave River Campground with family and friends. He also enjoyed cycling, and made several attempts at learning to play the guitar. He is survived by his parents, his sister Jennifer Lynn Keating (Kingston), his brother, Arthur Wu (Hong Kong), and nieces, nephews, a grandniece and a grandnephew. A Funeral Service will be held on 28 May 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Berwick Serenity Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, the IWK Children's Hospital, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Berwick Chapel, 192 Commercial Street Berwick (902-538-9900).
