~~Burdette Arlene Veinotte, 91 passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 18, 2017 with her daughters by her side at the South Shore Regional Hospital.  Born in New Ross, she was the daughter of the late Ingerson and Mabel (Harvey) Gates.
She is survived by her daughter Elsie (Max), grandchildren Jai Deane (Rodney), Darcy (Roberta), Drew (Diane), great grandchildren Brandy, Kealya, Kurtis, Mackenzie; daughter Vanessa (Billy); son Ellison (Ruth), grandchildren Andrew (Tiffany), Jesse (Emma), Bronson; son Kevin (Debbie); sisters in law Ivalo, Goldie and Joan.
She was predeceased by her husband Merritt Richard; son Erlin Dwight; grandson Mark and two brothers in infancy Willard and Orar; sisters Bernice and Violet; brothers Sylvanus, Charlie, Murville, Kendell, Paul and Oakley.  Burdette was the last surviving member of the Gates family.
A visitation will take place on July 21, 2017 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at New Ross Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on July 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the United Baptist Church in New Ross. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the New Ross Fire Dept, South Shore Regional Hospital or a charity of your choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home New Ross Chapel, 4935 Hwy 12 New Ross (902-689-2961).
