It is with great sadness that we the family announce the death of Frankie Alfred Amero of Plympton on Wednesday October 25 at a young age of 68 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital after battling cancer. Frankie was a son of the late Willard and Laura Amero. Frankie is survived by his loving wife, Edith(Doucet); children, Travis (Amanda) Ontario, Chrystal (Micheal), Nancy (Jason); grandchildren Benjamin, Brody, Ruby, Dakota and step-daughter Danielle and sister Diane (Percy) Cobham; nephew Farron and niece Shannon. Frankie was predeceased by his brothers Keith and Danny. Frankie was a well-loved hardworking, energetic man who would make friends feel like family instantly. He enjoyed truck driving and hunting and going for walks on the beach. In 2001 Frankie was credited for his bravery and selfless act of courage with an award from Nova Scotia House of Assembly for rescuing a man from an overturned boat in the cold water of St. Mary's Bay and saving his life in 1984. Frankie worked on the Martin Carlson on the Great Lakes, Upper Clements Park as Maintenance for 30 years, Bill Amero Log Cabin Kits, Yvon Comeau Plumbing, Yvon Belliveau Plumbing and Heating, Ocean Trawlers Little River trucking fish to PEI, Cape Breton, Pubnico and worked at many fish plants, Frankie last job was at Nova Feeds Ltd, Meteghan. Frankie was always ready to do a favor for anyone as he loved keeping busy. He will be missed by many who knew and loved him. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN. Cremation has taken place. A service will be held on November 2 at 1 pm in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822).
