I have very fond memories of Aunt Helen. As a young girl, I would often walk up the road to visit Aunt Beulah and Uncle Paul. There I would find Aunt Beulah and Aunt Helen hovering around the kitchen table, placing a dress pattern on the chosen material. It was placed just perfectly and they both seemed so satisfied with their workmanship and enjoyed each others company. It seems at times these sisters were inseparable.
I loved to hear Aunt Helen laugh. This I experienced first hand because dad would often tease Aunt Helen. She would reply back with teasing remarks as well followed by a loud, hearty laugh. And then everyone would see the love between them and their wide smiles.
Aunt Helen played piano - self taught, I believe and although I was not around so much, I knew that dad, Aunt Beulah, Uncle Paul, Uncle Carl, Uncle Arnold and Aunt Helen often attended many community sing songs and charity events. The love of music was evident in the Davidson family. And so I guess this DNA, creativity and love of music has been passed along to many siblings. I, for one, am thankful I am part of this legacy and will cherish the memories of the Davidson family. Helen is the last of the Ernest and Olive siblings to leave us. We will honour this family by cherishing their memories, sharing their stories, and using our talents to show love to others.
