In 1965 they moved to Marlborough, Massachusetts, then to Hopkinton, Massachusetts where they lived and raised their family for 28 years. They were married for 53 years and raised 3 children.

While living in the states, Harold worked for Dennison Manufacturing Company in Holliston, MA along with many extra jobs. He was a landscaper, property manager, handyman etc always working and providing for his family.

He returned to Nova Scotia to retire, and be with his ailing mother, in 1993 where he enjoyed his time fishing and reconnecting with his friends and family.
