It is with porfound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph "Joe" Leonard Cote, age 63 of Dartmouth. Joseph passed away at home, Sunday, June 10, 2018. Joseph was born March 16, 1955, in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, to Arthur Joseph Cote and Mary Michael (Christie) Cote.

He was employed as a civilian at the Department of National Defence, CFB Shearwater, for over 35 years. Joseph was an avid bowler, he loved a good game of crib, and he was an amazing grandfather to his three grandchildren. He was kind and generous and family was very important to him.

Joseph will be throroughly missed by his family, friends and coworkers.

Joseph is survived by his daughter Sarah Doane (Matthew Hansen); son Andrew Doane (Johna Latouf); his grandchildren Haley, Nathaniel and Mikayla Doane; and former spouse Brenda Weir. He will also be greatly missed by his nephews Bryan Cote (Jennifer) and Jon Mooney; as well as his nieces Christine Cote (James Fahey) and Veronica "Nicki" (Cote) Adams (Dan). He also leaves behind many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Joseph and Mary Michael (Christie) Cote; his beloved brothers Robert "Bob" Francis Cote (Sherry) and Ronald "Ron" Arthur Cote.

Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday July 14, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Saint Peter's Church in Dartmouth. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
