** Please be advised that all services for Helen Chute are postponed until a later date to be announced, due to health concerns surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic.**

Helen Lorraine Chute, 88 of Cambridge passed away on March 28, 2020 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Nine Mile River, she was the daughter of the late Brenton and Ruby Wier.

She worked most of her life in the hospitality industry, including the Driftwood Take Out in Berwick until her retirement. Helen was an amazing cook and baker; and in her younger years, her specialty was homemade bread and apple pies.

Helen was a modest, hardworking, fun-loving and spirited soul who found humor in everything, loved to laugh at herself and was such a joy to be around.  She would often surround herself with family and friends, liked to dress up, entertain, play cards and loved to dance.  She treasured time spent gardening and collecting hummingbirds.  Later in life, Helen really enjoyed bingo and word puzzles.

Over the last year, Mom had developed health issues that affected her mobility. Due to her strength and strong will, she was still living alone at 88 years of age. She was a loving and caring mother.  Although all of us children had moved away from the area in which she lived, we kept in close contact and were always welcome to visit.

Helen is survived by her sons Robert Taylor, Kitchener, ON; Vince Taylor, Dieppe, NB; Philip Taylor, Surrey, BC; daughters Norma Hue, Shubenacadie; Cheryl Nicholson, Toronto, ON; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother Frank Wier, Truro; sister Treva Thompson, Lantz; extended family David Chute and Karen Smith; many nieces and nephews.

We find peace in the belief that Helen has joined her late husband, Bob, in an eternal dance.

Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands Ronald Taylor, Buddy R. Strong and Robert P. Chute; son Clinton Taylor; brothers Charles Wier, Lawrence Wier, Carl Wier, Ross Wier and Roy Wier; sisters Ada Withrow, Jessie Grant and Lorna Rath.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Violet Cleveland, as we could not have allowed Mom to remain in her home without you.  Violet, you were her best friend and became Mom’s primary caregiver as her health deteriorated.  Your friendship and willingness to help meant the world to Mom, and we cannot show our appreciation enough.

Arrangements have been postponed until a later date to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or IWK Health Centre. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
