Obituary of Linda Faye Leopold

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Linda Faye (Robertson) Leopold, 61 of Leminster, Hants Co., passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, April 4, 2020 with her loving husband by her side. Born on July 22, 1958, she was the daughter of the late John “Jack” and Nellie Robertson.

A devoted and dedicated employee, Linda worked at NS Textiles Ltd. For 36 years and was one of the last ones out when the company closed in 2005.  She then went on to work for Ultramar until she decided, at the age of 54, to enroll at NSCC to become a CCA, which became her calling. She worked hard and passed her course on the Honor Roll.  Linda went on to work at Dykeland Lodge, the Windsor Elms and most recently Shoreham Village in Chester, NS. When she wasn’t working, you could find her at various arenas around the province.  She loved her hockey family and they loved her.  She played a big part in local junior hockey with the Junior “B” Windsor Royals and later with the Junior “C” Windsor Royals.  If there was anything she loved more than work or hockey, it was shopping. She made many trips to Maine, always making sure her grandchildren were well clothed and spoiled.

In later years, Linda enjoyed a couple well-deserved vacations, that she always treasured.  One was a trip to Nashville with her Aunt Ruth and the other to Punta Cana with her friend, Paula.

After being off work, she enjoyed her visits with her friends Paula and Sandra, as well as “the Click”, Sherry, Suzette, Lorna and Wendy.  She also looked forward to her visits from her favorite VON nurse and long-time friend, Mona Lake, and waited for her 10:00 am visits with her sister-in-law Mary.  She was never without a smart remark and told it like it was, whether you liked it or not.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Kerry; son Jamie (Amanda), Newport Corner; daughter Lisa (Gary) Burgess, Leminster; grandchildren Makayla, Breah, Kylie and Wyatt; siblings Joanne (Phil) Galley, Garlands Crossing; Susan (Mark) Vogel, Portland,  Oregon; John (Wanda) Robertson, Windsor; Brenda (Kevin) Orchard, Inverary, ON; Special Aunt, Olive Armstrong; mother-in-law Ruth Leopold; brother-in-law Owen (Mary) Leopold, Leminster; sister-in-law Avis Leopold; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, Linda was predeceased by her father-in-law Chesley Leopold.

Our family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to palliative care nurse, Amber Phillips, you truly are an angel on earth. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Palliative Care in the Windsor area, and the Cancer Units in both Halifax and Bridgewater Hospitals.
