Obituary of Hattie Viola Sproule

Hattie Viola Sproule, 76 of Rockland, passed away May 27, 2021 in her home with her loving husband by her side. Born in South Alton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Annie (Knockwood) Dorey.

Hattie loved to go camping (loving the two or three days at a time trips), gardening, housekeeping and baking.  She would go out and get into the grease with her husband tearing down old cars and such. Hattie loved music and in particular hymns like Old Rugged Cross, Amazing Grace and Lead Me On.

Hattie will be missed by all who know and loved her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Elmer; children Barry (Angie), Mount Uniacke; Wayne (Wendi), Waterville; Allan (Karen), Middleton and Shelley Martin, Middleton; brothers Edward Dorey, Waterville; Millage (Carol) Dorey, Waterville; Laurie (Kathy) Dorey, New Ross; sister Ann Campeau-Decelles, Ontario; grandchildren Andrew (Kelsey) Sproule, Rebecca Sproule, Barry Sproule, Allan Sproule, Brandon (Chelsey) Stewart, Christina (Michael) Ernst and Maegan Renolds; great-grandchildren Jayden, Shea-Lynn, Dimitri, Grayson, Freya and Torin.

In addition to her parents, Hattie was predeceased by her son-in-law Christopher; brother Henry; sister Florence Campeau; brother-in-law Maurice Campeau; sister-in-law Marion Dorey; 

A Graveside Service will take place on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 3:00 pm in the Morristown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
