“Goodbyes are not forever; Goodbyes are not the end;

They simply mean I’ll miss you, until we meet again” - Unknown

On September 23, 2021, Lena “Edwina” Walker, aged 60, of Digby Neck passed away. During life, she gifted everyone with her love, kindness, joy, laughter, sarcasm, and quick wit – always ready to make anyone smile. There was never a dull moment in her presence, usually leading us to say “Oh, only you would say that!”. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting or talking with her could tell that she lived to make others laugh. She was also a person who could draw you in, captivating you with her contagious smile at first glance. She was such a caring soul who always put others above herself.

Most important to Edwina was her family, who she loved unconditionally, especially her remaining children, Daniel, Amos, Terese, and Abby Crocker (Cecil Crocker) and her two grandchildren, Aubrey and Harvey Crocker (Abby). Not only was she a wonderful mother and grandmother, but Edwina was their glue, their rock, and their best friend. I am sure she will never be too far from them. She is also survived by her three brothers Everett, Philip, and Richard (Carolyn) Walker and sister Kathleen “Tiny” Bruhm, as well as her nieces, nephews, and their children – who she loved as though they were her own. Although gone too soon, Edwina’s (AKA Mom or “Aunt Wana”) strength, wisdom, and determination will live on through all of us.

We all take solace in that she is now reunited with her late son Isaac William Crocker, father William “Billy” Walker, mother, Audrey Walker, and niece Peggy-Sue Walker (Richard and Carolyn Walker).

Lastly, before her cremation at Serenity Funeral Home & Chapels, she gave back to the world one last time. It is with great pride and honour that she gave the gift of life to two other individuals.

A ceremony to celebrate her own life and legacy will be held on September 30, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Digby Neck Firehall in Sandy Cove. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
