Obituary of Roxanne Matilda Poole
Please share a memory of Roxanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Roxanne Matilida Poole, 59 of Coldbrook passed away on October 28, 2021 in the Valley Hospice. She was the daughter of Dudley and the late Edna (Stoddart) Stewart. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, thoughtful sister, caring friend, and strong community member. She retired from Bell Aliant in 2017 and joined the team at Bower-Jacquard Psychological Services.
Roxanne is remembered for her positive attitude, her high energy, for never giving up, and for being helpful, kind, and compassionate. Throughout her life she was a strong athlete, who was talented in many sports including softball, basketball, soccer, and horseback. She loved her horse JR, and Natasha’s horse, Zipper. In high school Roxanne began volunteering and continued volunteering in her adult life as she volunteered with 4-H, Nova Scotia Pony Club, West Valley Pony Club, Terry Fox Ride, Christmas Daddies, Pioneers, Relay for Life, and was still able to find time to coach soccer and basketball, while being there for her family, friends, and community. She was always willing to help others. Her high energy, smile, and love of life was contagious, which is why she was so much fun to be around.
Roxanne is survived by her husband of 36 years (together 43 years), Dwayne; two children, daughter, Natasha (Matthew Westhaver), Ontario and son, Dylan, Coldbrook; her dogs, Milo and Lily; father, Dudley Stewart; brothers, Timothy and William (Veronica) and sister, Bonnie (Darrell) Brannen; and nieces and nephews.
Her resting spot will be at the Lake Cemetery Company in Lakeville. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Nova Scotia, Valley Hospice or The Canadian Red Cross.
Roxanne was a wonderful wife, mother, friend, and mentor. Our lives have been made richer and better by simply knowing you. One of her last wishes was asking us to celebrate her life, rather than mourn it.
We will honour her wish during the service on Sunday, November 7, at 1:00pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS (902-679-2822).
