Obituary of Wayne Sterling Downey
Wayne Sterling Downey, 84 of Port Williams, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in New Minas, he was the son of the late Glen and Kerry (Ward) Downey of New Minas.
He is survived by his children, Wade (Wanda); Lana (Josh); Ryan (Jennifer); six grandchildren, Kayleigh; Helena; Amanda; Savannah; Graydon; Ainsley; three great-grandchildren, Riley; Remy; Rory; and sister, Barb (Robert) Young.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth Carolyn (Bishop) Downey.
In honoring Wayne’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
