I have known Philip since Junior High and he was always there to lend a helping hand. He was a master 14 wheeler. I doubt anyone could manoeuvre a Big Rig any better than Philip. Philip was a true friend and over the years we shared many good times. At Christmas he always bought Clementines for my daughter, Violet. It was that little spark - tradition that Philip shared with her. If I needed a ride, a lift from the airport, or a parcel picked up — Philip would be more than willing to help. In recent years Philip found his soul mate and Brenda found hers. I am glad they got to share some good years together. Philip died peacefully doing what he loved and one cannot ask for more than that during these troubled times of Covid-19. Even in the face of death, he took time to stop his rig and dial 911. He knew he needed help but by doing so he probably saved others from a very tragic — horrendous accident. God Bless and to all his family / loved ones I offer my sincere condolences

Dear Marion & family: This certainly comes as a shock doesn't it. Took me back to the days of Borden's Fruit & Vegetables when your Mom would call saying Bridgewater, (Digby, etc). Foodland IGA, etc.) is out of potatoes and Philip's on his way home to pick up more skids to deliver tonight. Philip spent a good many nights making deliveries just to keep his stories happy. Remember Philip & his chocolate milk. We both know he wasn't suppose to be drinking it because of his gout but that didn't stop him. Guess now he can drink all the chocolate milk he wants. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. My sincerest condolences to you all. Sonya

My condolences to Brenda, Marion and Philip's entire family.
It was my sincere pleasure to have known Philip both professionally (here at County Line Trucking for many hard-working years) and personally (he just seemed to fit in so well right from the beginning and was like another member of the family).
Upstanding man in every way!
He will be missed.

So sorry to hear about Philip’s passing. When he lived in Lower Canard he was a great neighbour, as well as a kind and helpful friend. Although we lost touch for a period of years we will never forget him and his kindness in welcoming us to the community.
