Obituary of Bernice Lenora Lloyd

Bernice Lenora (Walsh) Lloyd, 89 of North Alton, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2022 in the Valley Regional Hospital with her son, Derek, by her side. Born on January 18, 1933 in North Alton, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Edith (Farris) Walsh. Bernice was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

 

From 1951 until 1954, Bernice, worked as a switchboard operator with Bell Telephone Company in Guelph, ON. She went to correspondence courses and graduated Accounting in 1964. Bernice spent her career working with such companies as: a bookkeeper with Milnes Car Dealership; office manager with Hill Crest Herty, Halifax Ignition, Air Halifax, Yellow Cab, Wood Motors Ford Dealership; comptroller for Cherubini Bridges and Structures, all before retiring in 1989.

 

Bernice was also a devoted and proud member of the Kentville Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 6.

 

You were a wonderful mother and a beautiful person, you will be missed greatly by all that knew you

 

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Brenda (Carl) Lloyd-Hilchey, Michael (Kathy) Lloyd, Derek Lloyd (who lived with and looked after Bernice until her final day), and Kevin; she is also survived by her five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

 

As per family and Bernice’s request, there will be no service at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
