Dad always said he wouldn't live long enough to see the Toronto Maple Leaf's win the Stanley Cup.
Dean Richard Pyne, 73 of Digby, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2022 in Tideview Terrace. Born in Digby on May 18, 1948, he was the son of the late Charles and Viola (Theriault) Pyne.
When Dean’s one and only grandson, Sonny, was at a very young age, he gave the name “Gibby” to his grandfather, the endearing nickname stuck and dad enjoyed being called Gibby by friends and relatives
He is survived by his wife, Christine (Hersey) Pyne, daughters Shelley Pyne, Krista (James) Tidd, all of Digby. Also including his one and only grandchild, Sonny Jeffrey Dean Gillis; sister, Joan Douglas, Belleville, ON; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dean was predeceased by his sisters, Geraldine Ettinger, Eva Bower, and, Anne Winchester; brothers, Charles (Bev) Pyne, Edgar Pyne, and Jerry Raye Pyne in infancy.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Tideview Terrace for all the care and kindness they have shown Dean during his short stay with them.
As Dad would say Well, well well!!!
