Obituary of Phillip Michael Harvey
Please share a memory of Phillip to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Phillip Michael Harvey, 67 of Clementsport, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2022 in his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born in Digby, he was the son of the late Ronald and Phyllis (Henshaw) Harvey.
Phillip was a generous man that gave a lot, helped whenever and wherever he could, and he asked for nothing in return. He was always putting his family’s needs first over his own so much so he sold his ‘79 Harley Davidson Sportster for some extra money. He was ensuring he would have money for the upcoming Christmas. The love and care Phillip had for his wife was unselfish and they knew the secret to a happy, healthy, and loving marriage; unconditional love between them, then and forever after.
He was a man of many talents, craftsmanship, and dedication to finish his projects. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpentry and Joiners, as well as a member of the Freemasonry. Phillip had a great love for the home he built, the people in his company, friends, and family. He also adored his ’79 Jeep CJ7 that he meticulously worked on for several years, he would strip and paint each individual piece to get it ready to reassemble.
Phillip was also a lover of cats and some he befriended over the years lived past 20-years. His work would have him travel a few times over the years. Phillip travelled with his brother, Rodney, to Japan and Spain, then in later years to Yellowknife and Baffin Island. However, he did prefer to be “home in Guinea”. Phillip spent time in Newfoundland during childhood, possibly teen years, making many friends and acquaintances that he would go on to keep in touch with years after leaving the area. If Phillip wrote your name and number down in his book, you could be sure at some point you would receive a call as he liked to keep in touch with all he considered a friend.
Phillip will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Ben, Keith, and Justin; daughter, Kate; grandchildren, Emily, Keaton, Rylie, Morgan, and Journey; great-grandchild, Lincoln; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Phillip was predeceased by his brother, Rodney.
Cremation has taken place and Celebration of Phillip’s Life will be held Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the family home. Memorial donations may be made to charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
