Friends: We were deeply saddened to read of Rita's passing so soon after Charlie's. We have such fond memories of our wonderful neighbours and think of them whenever we look across the street. When I was pregnant with Sarah, I was confined to bed for about 6 weeks and Rita made us various things to help Roderick with the cooking. One item was a blueberry cheesecake. I asked for the recipe, which she gladly shared, and I have used it on so many occasions since. Everyone loves it, including Sarah who now uses it herself. When our willow tree had to come down, Sarah and I spent the morning with your mom as it was so noisy and disruptive. Then when I was pregnant with Neil, we were headed off for a vacation and Rita just looked at Roderick and said "Drive carefully". You are carrying precious cargo." So very true. We missed your Mum and Dad when they moved to Wolfville, but they certainly left us with wonderful memories of a very special couple.
