Obituary of David Archibald Milbury
With broken hearts the family of David Archibald Milbury announce the passing of their loving husband, father and grandfather, David passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital at the age of 91. Born on May 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Archibald and Hilda (Rice) Milbury of Morganville.
David was the ninth of 16 children raised on the family farm in Morganville. He had several jobs in his lifetime, the last two were with Tryner Construction and Buried Cable Ltd plowing underground cable throughout Mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton. He was not a fan of flying but got to travel across Canada and parts of the U.S, that included trips to Yellowknife, Pelly Bay, Phoenix, AZ and Florida. Upon his retirement, David took great pride in his Bear River home and property for 57 years.
David loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, going for drives around Morganville, taking in the scenery was essential.
Lorena (Pulley), the love of David’s life has been left to mourn along with his children Kim (Tom), Cindy, Reid (Kim); grandchildren, Lindsay, Jasmine (Joel), Oliver, Lily, brothers, Donnie (Fran), Glendon (Bev); sisters-in-law Marion and Lynn as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents David was predeceased by infant son Lindsay; son-in-law, Cliff; brothers, Richard, Fred, Leslie, Laurie; and sisters, Roberta, Ruby, Hazel, Edith, Pat, Marion, Merle, Alda, Carol.
A Private Memorial Service will be held a later date. Memorial Donations may be made to The Lodge That Gives or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Conway, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
