Obituary of Ronald Earle Mullen

Ronald Earl Mullen  1945-2024

It is with sadness that the family of Ronald Earl Mullen announce his death in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on 31 December 2024. Ron was born 14 November 1945, a lifelong resident of Digby, and the youngest of nine children to the late Clifford and Mary Mullen.

Ron enjoyed a good debate and kept up with world affairs. He was a problem solver and a hands on guy who built his own home and enjoyed woodworking, making coffee tables, desks, bookcases and lawn chairs for family members. Retiring from the Department of Fisheries, Ron enjoyed many rounds of golf with his buddies and coffees at Tim’s with the morning coffee gang. A good  time for Ron was listening to the blues with his sons, talking and enjoying a tipple. Family camping trips throughout the Maritimes were always fun for Ron. Most of all Ron was a devoted family man who could count family members as his best friends. He was always the first one to suggest a family meal or get together for any occasion.

Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Connie; sons, Adam (Donna), Alex (Felicia) and Kevin (Tammy); a loving Papa to grandson Kacey;  brother Aiden; sisters Sharon and Linda as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Ron was predeceased by his brothers Ensley, Junie (Clifford) and sisters Phyllis, Joycelyn and Norma.

There will be a private family service at a later date. Donations in Ron’s memory may be made to the Digby Fire Department or The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Conway, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
