July 28, 1966 – January 16, 2025
Kevin Walter MacAlpine of Weymouth, NS, passed away suddenly on January 16, 2025, doing what he loved- driving a log truck for Lydell Group Inc. in Drayton Valley, Alberta. Born on July 28, 1966 in Digby, NS, Kevin was the beloved son, survived by his parents, Carol (Barr) and Walter MacAlpine.
In addition to his parents, Kevin is survived by his son, Christien MacAlpine, sisters, Michele (Terry) MacAlpine-Muise, Cheryl (Rene) Bell, Lisa (Karl) MacAlpine, brother, Barry (Lynn) MacAlpine and his loving partner Darlene Deveau. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many close friends, along with his extended work families in Alberta, and D& M trucking Ltd. in Meteghan.
Aside from his love of being a professional log truck driver, Kevin enjoyed the simple things in life. He was happiest when spending time with Christien, family, and friends- especially Mark Cosman and Reg (Skid) Robicheau. He loved being in the woods, cutting firewood (not piling it!), hunting, fishing, gardening, quahogging, quadding, quiet time spent at the cottage, and so much like his mom, he loved picking wild blueberries. True to his good-natured spirit, Kevin was known for his quick wit, his infectious laugh, and the way he loved to tease those closest to him.
Kevin’s memory will live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know and love him. His warm smile and kind heart will never be forgotten. Saying goodbye is the hardest part.
Cremation will take place under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 8 2025 in the Weymouth Legion from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In Kevin’s memory, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or an animal shelter of your choice.
