Obituary of Edward Wayne Outhouse
Edward Outhouse, 80 of Tiverton, passed away January 31, 2025, in the Yarmouth Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Central Grove on March 24, 1944, he was the son of the late Edgar and Verna Outhouse.
Edward knew the meaning of hard work; he started his career of being a fisherman at 14 years old and retired from lobster fishing in 2010. Nevertheless, he was generally in good spirits and loved a good laugh, it wasn’t easy to get a photo of him without a silly face. Edward was a lover of the simple things’ life had to offer such as daily drives with his wife, family visits with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, spending time with his Brittany Spaniels who he held a special love for, deer and rabbit hunting, birdwatching or most days you could find him listening to the golden oldies. He also had a love for baseball, Toronto Blue Jays and the Red Sox were his favorite teams.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Elaine (Sollows); daughters, Shauna (Robin) of Acaciaville, Jacqueline (Fred) of Freeport and Tamara (Mark) of Smiths Cove; sisters, Wanda and Laurel; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by his infant son, Patrick; brother Harold and his sister, Valerie.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital for their compassion and kindness.
There will be no service by family request. Donations in Edward’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 198 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook, NS.
