Obituary of Marie Hennessey

Gwendolyn Viola “Marie” Hennessey, 88 of Kingston, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025. Born in Dartmouth, NS on July 30, 1936, Marie was the daughter of the late Leslie and Loretta Morris.

Growing up in Dartmouth, Marie met Dave Hennessey, after marrying Dave the two ventured across the country before settling in Greenwood in 1958, then in 1971 moved to Kingston. Marie truly loved the valley and all the friends she had made over the years who resided here, far too many to count, she later relocated to Trenton, Ontario to be with her daughters, Debbie and Deanne.

Marie had several interests that included knitting, sewing, playing crib at the Legion and going on long drives with her husband, Dave!

Marie is survived by her children, Denis Hennesey of Kingston, David Hennessey of Coldbrook, Debbie Castilloux of Ontario, Danny Hennessey of Kingston, Derrick Hennessey of Alberta, Deanne (Roy) Trenton of Ontario and Darren Hennesey of Kingston; siblings, Vernon Morris, Beverly Moore, Donna Lumley, Dianna Morris, Carrol Zupance and Mary Anderson all of British Columbia; 20 grandchildren as well as 27 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life as per Marie and Dave’s wishes will take place at a later date, during the summer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
