Tanya Warnell

Obituary of Tanya Lee Warnell

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Tanya-Lee Ann Warnell on March 23, 2025, at the age of 57. She passed away peacefully at home. She was the beloved daughter of the late Allison Warnell and Betty Ann Burke.

Tanya built a remarkable career in the hotel and tourism industry. After earning her Food and Beverage certification from Vocational Community College in 1988, she found her true calling in hospitality. In 1989, she began working at Cambridge Suites Hotel, where she advanced to the role of Housekeeping Manager and formed lifelong friendships. Over the years, she also contributed her talents to Digby Pines and the Coastal Inn. For the past I7 years she worked beside Ron at the Best Western Hotel in Burnside where once again, she forged deep and lasting connections.Tanya’s work ethic, was like no other; it made her an exemplary employee, which is why she had longevity at the places she was employed.

Tanya will be remembered for her unwavering loyalty, and the way she always showed up for the people she loved. A devoted friend, she brought warmth and joy to those around her, always making others feel valued and cherished. She loved any opportunity to gather with friends and family, sharing laughter and stories while reminiscing about the old days. Her ability to turn simple moments into treasured memories was a gift, and those who knew her will forever hold onto the love and light she brought into their lives. She was also a passionate cat lover, and considered her beloved fur babies to be her children. Outside of work and friendships, Tanya found happiness in the great outdoors, especially camping trips with her partner, Michael. Together, they would escape to the countryside, cherishing the peaceful moments spent in Walton. These adventures were among her most treasured memories, a reflection of the simple joys she held close to her heart.

Tanya is survived by her loving mother, Betty Burke (Dartmouth), her stepmother, Nancy Warnell (Dartmouth), and her devoted spouse, Michael Williams (Dartmouth). She also leaves behind her cherished grandmother, Vera Perry, along with several aunts and uncles, and her beloved godson, Brandon Walker, whom she loved as if he were her own. Her fur babies, Squeaks and Muffin, brought her endless joy and companionship. Tanya’s closest friends, Sabina Walker and Tina Kane, were like family to her, sharing in life’s laughter, challenges and joy.

She was predeceased by her father, Allison (Al) Warnell, her brother, Richard Warnell, her partner, Robert (Bobby) Francis, and her grandfather, Cyril Cunningham.

Tanya was deeply spiritual, so it is no surprise that she passed on her grandfather’s birthday, March 23rd. Though she is no longer with us, Tanya’s love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. We love you Tanya Lee-Warnell thank you letting us love you.
