Obituary of Beatrice Helen Cauet

It is with grieving hearts that we announce the passing of Beatrice “Bea” Helen (Cromwell) Cauet, 98, on March 25, 2025, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.

 

Bea was born in Southville, Nova Scotia, on May 10th, 1926. She worked for the Department of National Defence for 35 years. She received high admiration and deep appreciation for her work there in St. Leonard’s and in Ottawa. After she retired, she moved back to Southville, then to Digby. She was always a very active person in the communities where she lived. She won an award in Ottawa for her volunteer work there. She was member of many organizations and was known for always carrying out her positions very well. She was a member of The New Tusket Women’s Institute, The Weymouth Historical Society, The Weymouth Garden Club, The African Violet Society, The Digby Horticultural Society, The Admiral Digby Museum, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 20, Digby, and the Digby Curling Club. She was presented with a Provincial Volunteer Award in Halifax by the Lieutenant Governor. Bea was an active member of the Catholic Church of Digby, was involved in the Digby Senior Games and started the Digby Scallop Pearls chapter of the Red Hat Society.

 

Bea was predeceased by her husband, Jules Cauet. She is survived by her sisters, Marion Clements, of Southville and Glenice Parker, of Dallas, Texas. Bea spent the last 10 years living in Yarmouth, NS. She lived with Cora and Mike Rhyno at their seniors’ boarding home and then their private home, where she received excellent and loving care.

 

As per Bea’s wishes, Cremation has already taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday April 25, 2025, at 11:00am, with a reception to follow, in the Digby Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway 303, Digby, NS.
