Obituary of Eileen Velda Harvey

Eileen Velda Harvey

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Eileen Velda Harvey, 78 of Deep Brook NS on April 12th, 2025, in the Yarmouth Hospital.

Born on September 2nd, 1946, in Clarenville NFLD as a true Newfoundlander. Eileen was the youngest child of Ezekiel and Patience Cooper with her brother Andrew and sisters Mary, Gladys and her last surviving sister Frances.

In 1968, Eileen married Ronald G Harvey and had one son she named Ronald M Harvey. Eileen gained two wonderful stepsons Rodney and Philp Harvey that she loved as if they were her own.

In the early 70s, Eileen moved with her family to Deep Brook. Eileen met and grew close to her brothers and sisters-in-laws, while always maintaining a close relationship to her NFLD family. Eileen would cherish these family memories fondly.

Eileen began a 30+ year career working in Digby General Hospital where she would make dear lifelong friends that would continue to meet once a month for suppers.

Eileen always tried to see the positive in life. Whether it was when Eileen survived breast cancer or when she watched her two stepsons both pass due to cancer. Eileen was caring soul willing to help in anyway she could even if meant she would do without.

Eileen was a grandmother to 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Eileen would treat any child like her own, which made her a popular aunt as well. She enjoyed having family and friends get togethers. Eileen had a deep fondness for animals including many deep conversations with Thunder the Pug and Cooper the Newfoundland dog regarding when snack time should be.

Eileen is survived by her sister Frances, her sister-in-law Joyce, her son Ron and daughter-in-law Teresa, her grand children Brandon, Jordanne, Callum, Keith, Justin, Amanda, Ben and Kate as well as many great grand children, great-great grand children, nieces, nephews and friends.

Eileen Harvey is loved and will be missed deeply.
