In Loving Memory of Agnes Marie Grovestine

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Agnes Marie Grovestine (Mowry), on April 16, 2025. She was in the comforting care of Evergreen Home in Kentville at the time of her departure. Born in Peterborough, Ontario in 1931, Agnes was the beloved daughter of the late Milne and Margaret (Shanahan) Mowry.

Agnes was a beacon of love and strength for her family. She grew up alongside her four siblings: Joe, Leo, Paul, and Pauline; their bond remained unbroken throughout their lives. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Charles Gerald (Jeff) Grovestine in Peterborough. Their union was filled with joy and mutual respect until Jeff's death in 2012.

“Agnes' kindness and gentleness touched everyone she met. Her resilience inspired those around her while her nurturing spirit made everyone feel cared for. As we mourn this loss together as a family and community, let us remember Agnes for the modest woman she was - full of grace and compassion.”

May she rest peacefully knowing that she has left an indelible mark on all our hearts.

Agnes leaves behind a legacy of love through her three children, Cindy Grovestine (Louise) of Burlington, Ontario; Mike Grovestine of Aylesford, Nova Scotia; and Jeff Grovestine of Hamilton, Ontario. Her memory will continue to live on through them. She also had two beautiful granddaughters, Dimitra and Alexa, who reside in Ontario. They were a great source of pride and brought joy to her life.

A Celebration of Agne’s Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9.
