Obituary of Laurie Wayne Brown

Laurie Wayne Brown, 73 of New Minas passed away April 27, 2025, in the Valley Hospice. Born on May 19, 1951, Laurie was the youngest son of the late, Clarence and Zilphia (Schofield) Brown.

Laurie had a heart of gold; he would move heaven and earth for those he cared about. His smile was genuine and truly the sweetest, it was almost as if it was his unique way of making you feel special. He had a soft spot for dogs and cats, especially Millie, a snow-white cat who kept him company on his quiet days at home. Laurie loved barbeques and being surrounded by good friends at potlucks he also enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and was a big fan of The Spinney Brothers.

Laurie worked as a mechanic and alignment technician for 25 years at GCR Tire in New Minas, prior to that he worked for Blair Pudsey for many years. Laurie’s passion for antique cars led him to becoming one of the founders of the Downeast Classic Car Club, he served as Vice President and later on became President.

Laurie is survived by his loving wife, Dianna Betty (Ann) of 55 years; his brother Dennis (Diane) of Mount Denson; sisters, Faye Brown of Avonport and Glenice (Steven) Misner of Chipman Brook, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Laurie was predeceased by his brothers, Cecil, Lloyd, Walton and Phillip and sisters, Stella Veino, Marion Wilkins, Gene Brown and Christina Brown.
