Obituary of Jean Marie Weeks

Jean MARIE Weeks (Nee Bennett) November 14, 1928 - May 3, 2025 It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our sweet mother, Marie Weeks. Marie passed away peacefully on May 3rd at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, N.S., surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 96. Marie was born in Grey Township, Huron County, Ontario on November 14th, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie Bennett (Nee Campbell). Marie is survived by her beloved husband of almost 73 years, Allison B. Weeks, her three children, Robert (Suzanne), Mary Lynne (Paul) and Sharon (Mike), her grandchildren, Eileen (Trevor), Alison (Nathaniel), Alicia (Edward), Robert, Richard and Jenna (Mark), and great grandchildren, Dylan, Anna, Akira, Narue, Gibbs, Mackenzie, Sterling, Luka and Sullivan.

Marie had a beautiful personality and dedicated her life to her family. She was an excellent cook, baker (her butter tarts were out of this world!) and homemaker and enjoyed knitting, volunteering her time and spending cherished time with her family. After raising a beautiful family in Listowel, Ontario, Marie and the love of her life, Al, retired to Goderich, Ontario and spent many wonderful years snowbirding between Goderich and Florida before they settled in West Bedford, Nova Scotia. Marie also loved cats, dogs and birds and enjoyed any interaction with great pleasure. Loved by all who knew her, Marie was a nurturing, selfless kindhearted spirit who will live in our hearts forever. She will be greatly missed. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or any charity of choice.
