Obituary of Walter Lee Ross

Walter Lee Ross, 80 passed away on May 3, 2025, in the Digby General Hospital. Born on November 8, 1944, Walter was a long-time resident of Culloden and the son of the late John and Kathleen (Banks) Ross.

With a love of deer hunting and being a retired fisherman, Walter was a true outdoorsman and those who knew him well knew he enjoyed a nice cold beer.

Walter leaves behind his daughter, Donna Ross (Jim Weir) of Digby; sons, Ronnie Ross of St. John, NB and Donnie Ross (Ann Melanson) of Marshalltown; brothers, Fred (Sharon) Ross of Rossway, Alan (Joan) Ross of Smiths Cove and Murray (Lorraine (Dunn), Deceased) Ross of Seabrook; sisters, Grace (Robert “Bob” Turnball, Deceased) Ross of Smith’s Cove and Norma (Oliver Vickery) Ross of Seabrook, NS as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Walter was predeceased by his brothers, Reginald (Sharon Stark) Ross and Kevin Ross.

“A Special Thank You to Dr. Mazarel, Digby General Hospital for your compassion and care that you gave dad while he was sick and in the hospital for a lengthy time, also a special thank you to the nursing staff in the ER and the staff on the second floor as well as the staff in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital during dad’s two week stay and to the EHS for all that you did. It was all greatly appreciated and to Danielle from continuing care, Thank you for our special chats and your support over the years. – From the bottom of our hearts, Thank You Donna, Ronnie and Donnie.

Cremation has already taken place, there will be no funeral service, donations may be made to the Culloden Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Conway, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
