It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mildred Harnish, who passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, at the Hants Community Hospital, at the age of 90.

Mildred will be deeply missed by her loving family, including her son Richard Morine, daughters-in-law Tracey Morine and Cindy Morine, and her cherished brother Floyd (Carol) Kelly and family. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Mark, Amy, Jamie, Dwayne, Cameron, Sara, Shane, Hope, Becky and great-grandchildren: Ethan, Hudson, Sadie, and Lyla.

She was predeceased by her loving husband John Harnish, her parents, her brothers Les, Ralph, Cecil, Henry, and Lawrence, and her sisters Myrtle, Ruby, Rita, and Margaret and her two sons Jim and Bobby Morine.

Mildred spent her later years at MacLeod House, where she was a cherished member of the community. She had many dear friends there who will remember her warmth, kindness, and fun-loving spirit. She especially loved listening to live music, participating in activities, and helping anyone in need. Mildred had a generous heart and a joyful soul.

A lover of special occasions, she always looked forward to receiving greeting cards—and she never forgot to count every single one. When her eyesight allowed, she enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking, and she was always up for a game of bingo. Mildred was an incredible woman who brought light and laughter to those around her. She was truly loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

A graveside service will be held to honour Mildred’s memory on Tuesday June, 10 2025 at 11am in the Gaspereau Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in Mildred’s memory.
