Obituary of Alvah M Macgillivray

Alvah (Alvin) Murdock MacGillivray, 82 of Central Onslow passed away suddenly at home on May 8,2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Alvin was the son of the late Theodore and Shirley (Grant) MacGillivray.

All of Alvin’s life he was a Truck Driver travelling from one place to another, near and far, when he wasn’t trucking, he could be found hunting or fishing depending on the season. 
After he retired the trucker remained in him, you would either find him going for long drives around the mountain or at a unknown destination.

Alvin is survived by daughter, Heather (Tommy) Loughead; Son, Carl; Brother, Wayne; Companion, Irene Blenkhorn; Daughter in Law, Helen Morrell; Grandchildren, Jason, Colin, Krystal (Brad), Stephanie and Tracey; Great Grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Lexi, Avery and Harper as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Alvin was predeceased by his loving wife Thelma (Black) MacGillivray; Son, Gary Morrell and Daughter in Law, Linda (Parker) MacGillivray.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 198 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook, NS.
