Wayne Bonnevie

Obituary of Wayne John Bonnevie

It’s with a broken heart that I announce the sudden passing of a wonderful, devoted husband; the love of my life on Sunday June 1st 2025.

Left to mourn his absence, love, kind-heartedness and generosity are his spouse of 41 years; Maggie (Miller) Bonnevie, his sons; Christoher (Jenifer) and Timothy and Grand-daughters Laura and Emily.  Wayne will also be missed by his nieces and nephews as well as his extended MacMullin family.

As everyone knew Wayne was a private person but he really looked forward to meeting his long-time friends; Fred and Scott for a coffee at 04:30 each morning either at Tim’s or McDonalds.

Wayne was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Marriott and other members of his immediate family including his parents.

Wayne was an automotive mechanic for many years and loved his vehicles he had over the years.  He also loved fishing and playing darts in his younger years.

My husband was always a great source of strength during my bout with cancer, if it wasn’t for his excellent care during my treatments; I’m not sure I would have survived.

Wayne was always there to help his friends with whatever was needed, whether a drive to an appointment or to pickup groceries.

Wayne has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Donations in memory of Wayne may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.

Celebration of life will be held on Thursday June 26, 2025 @ 2:00 pm, in the Calvin Presbyterian Church. 3311 Ashburn Ave, Halifax
