A Letter from Faye

Allison was born close to nature and liked the outdoors. Early playing in a sandpile with a toy truck, maybe carrying a “cargo” of a “penny” on the back. I FAYE have heard him say when he was barely able to stretch his legs enough to go from rung to rung how he arrived up on the roof, just behind his father, to help him put the shingles on the home roof. After he startled his father who escorted him off the roof and told to remain on the ground.

For many years fishing passed away hours and provided the tasty fish, and later hunting for a time. Then came all the hours of labour on the family farm and wood lot cutting trees down and chopping up to use. Later different jobs, eventually being employed at Sawler Gardens for more than three decades, until his health ended his strength.

At home he passed time making things out of wood, fixing up bikes to function well again and making fret saw items, or hoeing in the garden. When the ability to continue this, sitting and “watching nature” was not so content. Games on coloring began.

Many appointments, hospital admissions, the last on January 14, 2025, he did painting on adult coloring books as long as possible. As pain management became crucial, we relied more on our faith and on July 1, 2025, Allison entered Heaven.

After Allison and I (Faye) being married for 44 years, I feel a huge hurt, but know he is at peace, This gives me comfort.
