Frances Veronica Levy, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in the Rosedale Home for Special Care at the age of 87. Frances was born in New Ross on October 9, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Austin H Reeves & Hannah J (Hiltz) Reeves.
Frances was predeceased by her handsome, loving husband Earl B. Levy, her beautiful daughter-in-law Patty Levy as well her siblings Mardell (Arnold) Levy, Rena (Neil) Rafuse, Curtis Reeves, Emery (Erma) Reeves, Florence (Albert) Elliot.
Frances is survived by her one and only special sister-in-law Olive McDow as well her 7 boys and many beautiful grandchildren. Son Danny & daughter-in-law Ellie (Grandson Gordon - Great grandchildren Gordon Jr, Hunter, Logan & Sophia & Grandson Peter - Great grandchildren Zander & Isla); Son Sperry & daughter-in-law Debbie (Granddaughter Jennifer - Great grandchildren Ava, Liam, Granddaughter Amanda - Great grandchildren Noah & Ivy); Son Anthony & daughter-in-law Gail (Grandchildren Ashley, Steven & Jennifer - Great Granddaughter Sophie); Son Ritchie & daughter-in-law Karen (Granddaughter Chasity, Granddaughter Starr - Great Grandson Hatley Earl); Son Tommy & daughter-in-law Apryl (Grand daughter Morgan - Great granddaughter Scarlett, Grand daughter Hannah); Son Michael (Stephanie) - Granddaughter Ivie (Grandson Josh - Great granddaughter Henley Grae, Grandson Lucas - Great grandson LJ) Son Jodey & daughter-in-law Aimee (Grandson Dawson Jerome & Granddaughter Brooklynn Nevaeh); all of New Ross
Frances was a beautiful, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. You never went hungry when visiting her and Earl, even unannounced she would throw something together whether it was a just a cooked potato, homemade piece of bread, mustard pickles & her famous molasses cookies. BUT always had to make sure the “MEN” were fed first. Frances always had the next meal of the day rolling as she cleaned up the previous one. She was a very hard-working lady her whole life. If she wasn’t looking after her 7 boys, you’d find her by Earls side in the Christmas Trees shearing trees, collecting brush or whatever Earl needed help with.
Frances along with Aunt Mardell made many trips to the logging camp on Dice Hill with Earl and Uncle Arnold cooking, preparing meals, knitting mittens and wool socks for the men, sometimes she even brought a few of her boys with her. A true force to reckon with. Although Frances was always ensuring everyone was looked after on the farm, she always found the time for herself to add a little blush (Rouge in her words), a perm and chase that BINGO card with her bestie Betty! Her love of her grandchildren will never be forgotten, and the many baking lessons and bread dough fights will live on in us all!
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of the home care providers earlier on & the VON while Frances was still at home. The care and compassion that was given to her from Rosedale Home for Special Care is unmeasurable. It gave the family a beautiful source of comfort during her last years. So, thank you to the wonderful staff. Special thanks to Deanna who eased our mind in ensuring she had the best of medical care & loved her like her own. Randy, for being her special guy (boyfriend ha-ha) and sweet Nancy who loved big, always joked around with her and made her feel right at home.
Frances’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her memory will be cherished, and the impact of her presence will be passed along for generations to come. Rest in piece mom/nan.
