Edna Lorraine Brunt December 18, 1933 – July 17, 2025

With deep love and sorrow, the family of Edna Lorraine Brunt announces her peaceful passing on July 17, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in Aylesford, Nova Scotia, Edna was the cherished daughter of Constance (Bowlby) and Raymond McPhee.

Edna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robie Kenneth (Ken) Brunt; her granddaughter Kirsten; and her much loved sisters Faye, Barbara, and Cheryl.

Edna’s life was a blend of compassion, creativity, and joy. She devoted countless hours volunteering at care facilities, where she shared her infectious laughter, love of music, and poetic soul. Whether playing the spoons or her infamous ugly stick, or reciting poetry—most of which she penned herself—Edna brought light and levity to those around her.

She leaves behind her children Catherine (Rod), Greg (Teresa), and Kendra (Victor); grandchildren Cian, Vanessa, Dylan, and Evan; several great-grandchildren who were the pride of her heart and her nieces and nephews who were always close and connected to her.

Edna’s legacy is one of kindness, humour, and unwavering love. Her memory will live on in the stories she told, the poems she wrote, and the lives she touched.

The family would like to thank the staff of Grand View Manor for their incredible compassionate care over the last 5 years of mom’s life.  It was home and she felt much loved and cared for there. 

The family will be coming together in early October to inter her ashes and, in her words, to be as close as she can get to her beloved Ken.  Following interment at the Church Grove Cemetery in Melvern Square, a reception will be held at the Melvern Square Community Centre on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand View Manor or Church Grove Cemetery in her memory.
