Sandra Diane Haynes (née Francis)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Diane Haynes (née Francis) on July 21, 2025, in her hometown of Digby, Nova Scotia, at the age of 80. Born on February 23, 1945, in Digby, Sandra was the beloved daughter of the late Evelyn Newcombe and sister to the late Larry (Howard) Francis.

Sandra lived her entire life in Digby and was a familiar, friendly face in the community. Before moving into Tideview Terrace, where she spent the last 12 years of her life, she could be found dancing every weekend at the Digby East Fish and Game Club, rarely missing a night. She and her husband, Fred shared a passion for bingo and were regulars at local games, always ready with lucky dabbers and big smiles.

Sandra will be remembered most for her warmth, her ever-present smile, and the simple joy she brought to those around her. She was a devoted and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews, who will miss her deeply.

Sandra was predeceased by her loving husband, Fred Haynes, with whom she shared many joyful years filled with love, laughter, and bingo nights.

Sandra’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff at Tideview Terrace for their kindness, compassion, and care over the past twelve years.
