Obituary of Lorie Dianna LeBlanc

It is with deep sadness that the family of Lorie Dianna Veronica (née Johnston) Leblanc announce her passing on August 1, 2025, in the Valley Hospice in Kentville, NS after a three-year battle with cancer.  Lorie was born on June 16th, 1967, in Saint John, NB to the late Betty-Lou Johnston and the late David Crilley.

Lorie grew up in St. Martin’s, NB where she enjoyed many childhood adventures with her six siblings and made friendships that would last a lifetime. Lorie worked a combined 25 years at Tim Horton’s in Saint John and later as manager in both the Kentville and New Minas, NS locations. Her lively banter, sense of humour, and kindness made her a beloved employee by her customers and staff.

Lorie will be deeply missed by siblings Pam (John) Binnington of Gravenhurst, Ontario, Sherry (Hector) Turret of Three Rock Cove, NL, Tony (Stephen) Crilley-Porter of West Quaco, NB, Sheila Donovan (Dean Partridge) of Enfield, NS, Mike (Shauna) Black of Amherst, NS, and Robert (Alisha) Frawley of Fort McMurray, Alberta; several nieces and nephews who were the apple of her eye; her dear friend of over fifty years, Lori Savoi, whose steadfast loyalty and love were a source of immense joy and comfort to her; and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, Lorie was predeceased by her beloved Nanny (Audrey Johnston) and her special uncle Joseph Johnston.

Lorie loved the simple things in life including bonfires, crafts, and most especially motorcycle rides with her close friend Dave Weatherby whose care and devotion to her will never be forgotten. She also enjoyed long conversations with her cousin and friend Terri-Lynn Sullivan.

Lorie weathered her battle with cancer with strength, fortitude, and humour.  She was fiercely protective of those she loved and was always concerned about the well-being of everyone else. She was the queen of comebacks even on her hardest days. She had the unique ability to make everyone around her feel special and appreciated and would never end a conversation without an “I love you’.

The family is deeply grateful to the staff of Valley Hospice whose compassion and care made Lorie’s last days peaceful and comfortable.  She told her family “I am content” and we could not ask for anything more.

As per Lorie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.  Lorie’s legacy is one of kindness and generosity and in keeping with this, a gesture of kindness to another and/or a donation to Hospice Valley would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 198 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook, NS (902) 679-2822.
