Obituary of Robert Thomson
It is with sadden hearts we announce the passing of Robert Thomson, August 27,1941 - August 4, 2025. Robert was born in Paisley, Scotland. The first child of Charles and Jessie Thomson. He grew up as a wonderful big brother to Isabel, Catherine and Charles.
Robert will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Isabel, his son Allan (Tanya) and his brother Charles (Aileen).
He was an amazing Grampy to Taylor (Matt), Courtney (Dylan) and Jason (Sara). Robert was thrilled to have two precious great grandchildren Preston and Paisley.
Robert, Isabel and Allan arrived in Canada in 1973. The majority of Robert’s career was as a draftsman /shipwright for Halifax Shipyard. He spent countless hours on the soccer pitch playing, coaching and cheering. Coaching with HH Marshall Soccer Club ,Robert made some lasting memories and many friends in the soccer community. As a youngster Robert was a member of the 18th Paisley Boys Brigade and he never lost his love of pipe bands and his Scottish heritage, which is why he loved to attend his Granddaughters performances in Highland dance competitions .
Robert also loved to watch his son and Grandson play various sports, including hockey and soccer, but his real passion was spending time with his wife and visiting relatives across Canada and back home in Scotland!
There will not be a funeral service as per Robert’s wishes. Internment with immediate family will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 198 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook, NS (902) 679-2822.
