Obituary of Albert John Bennett

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Albert John Bennett, who left us peacefully on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at the age of 68, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Albert was born on April 15th, 1957, in the small fishing village of Harbour Breton, Newfoundland, to his parents Francis and John Bennett. Proud of his roots, Albert grew up surrounded by the close-knit spirit of his hometown before finishing high school and beginning work at the local fish plant. Later, seeking new opportunities, he moved to Nova Scotia where he built a meaningful career with Payzant’s Home Hardware, where he was known for greeting everyone with his trademark warm smile.

Albert will be forever loved and remembered by his devoted wife Yvonne, and his children Chasity (Kevin), Jonathan (Desirée), and Maria (Rob). He was a proud and playful grandfather to Hailey, Clark, and Jaxson, who brought endless joy to his life. He also leaves behind his brother Wallace (Sandra), as well as a circle of extended family and friends who will hold his memory close to their hearts.

A man of simple pleasures, Albert had a big heart and an easy laugh. He loved sharing meals, cheering for his favorite sports teams, and discovering new craft beers to enjoy. Family, friends, and co-workers will remember his kindness, humor, and the genuine way he made everyone feel welcome.

Albert’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of warmth and love will live on in all who knew him.
