Obituary of Karl Owen Pick

Karl Owen Pick, 87 of White Rock passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 26, 2025, in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in White Rock on March 23, 1938, Karl was the son of the late, George and Lila (Shelby) Pick.

Karl dedicated much of his life to his work at the Old Orchard Inn, where he was admired for his commitment and warm spirit. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life — fishing by the water, working in the woods, and the camaraderie of playing softball and hockey in his younger years. A thoughtful and creative soul, Karl also delighted in puzzles, crafts, and expressing himself through poetry, leaving behind words that reflected his heart and imagination. In his later years, Karl enjoyed spending time with his special friend, Deanna Schofield.

Karl is survived by his sons, Richard (Janice) Pick and Korey (Nicole) Pick; grandchildren, Cody (Twana), Caitlin, Raimee (Austin) and Joshua; as well as his nieces, Wendy (Manford) and Jennifer.

In addition to his parents, Karl was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Walsh) Pick and his brother, Max.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 6, 2025, at 1:00pm in the White Rock Cemetery with a reception to follow in the White Rock Community Hall from 2:00-4:00pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 198 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook, NS (902) 679-2822.
