Obituary of Dale John Locke

It’s with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Dale John Locke, 63, of Coldbrook NS, on September 16th, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow NS.

Dale was the devoted husband of Cynthia, soulmates since 1982. He was the loving father of two children, Devin and Felicity. Dale loved the time he spent with his family. As his children grew up, he stayed connected with them through their shared passions. Dale was endlessly proud of his children, bragging about them whenever he could. Dale went out of his way to take care of the people he loved, and when Felicity and Devin each got married, he welcomed their spouses into the family with open arms. Recently, Dale and Cynthia welcomed the birth of their first grandchildren, and Dale loved his role as Papa.

Dale was a jack of all trades and could fix anything; with his perseverance he could always find a solution. Dale enjoyed sports, especially football (go Pats!). He had many fond memories of playing rounds of golf with his friends and playing hockey in his younger years. Dale loved spending vacations with his loved ones, making memories camping or taking trips down south.

Dale worked at Michelin for his entire career, and recently began to take the summers off to spend time traveling around the Maritimes with Cynthia in their RV. He and Cynthia loved nothing more than spending time at various campgrounds where they would enjoy nature, campfires, and relaxing together and with friends. These travels, along with spending time with his family, made his last summer the happiest of his life.

Dale will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 39 years, Cynthia; children, Devin [Christine], Felicity [Ben] Chinn; grandchildren, Wheeler and Riggs Chinn; parents, Donna and Wally Locke, Shelburne NS; and sister Jan [Mark] Locke-Adderley, Bermuda. Dale was a cherished son-in-law to Gerald Ford, Charlottetown PEI, and an uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Dale was predeceased by his mother-in-law Shirley Ford, Charlottetown PEI.

Though he has left this world, Dale's legacy of love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Dale’s life will be celebrated in a close family gathering at a later date. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 198 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook, NS (902) 679-2822.
