Obituary of Barry William Nicks

Barry William Nicks, age 76, of Sheffield Mills, Nova Scotia, passed away at home on October 15^th, 2025.  Born December 9^th, 1948, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Barry was the only child of the late Frank and Grace (Hunt) Nicks.

Barry is survived by his long-time partner, Carol Pick, who faithfully cared for him throughout the last few years, his children; Krista (Doug) Rutt, Upper Canard, N.S.; Craig (Brandi) Nicks, Elmhurst, Illinois; Kim (Preston) Matthews, Coldbrook, N.S.; Tracy (Joey) Guitard, Greenwood, N.S.; and Shelley (Ian) Coolen, Kentville, N.S. His Grandchildren; Katie, Emily, Allie, Caleb, Brady, Alex, Justin, Jenna, Joel, Charlotte, Sophia and Abigail.

Throughout his life, Barry had many interests, including socializing with friends, playing guitar, sailing, curling, travelling down south, watching his kids various sporting events and caring for the many dogs he had over the years.

As per Barry’s wishes, his body has been donated to Dalhousie University’s medical science.
