CUVILIER, Phyllis Hazel - 79, Hantsport. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Cuvilier on November 12, 2006, in Haliburton Place, Windsor. Born in Mount Denson, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Hugh and Hazel (Palmer) MacKinlay of Mount Denson. Phyllis was a member of St. James United Church and a life member of the United Church Women. She joined the choir at the age of 16 and stayed a member for over 50 years. She was a well-respected member of her church and community. She loved cooking, playing bridge, and family occasions and gatherings. A kind and caring person, Phyllis was known for her kind words and great love and devotion to her faith, family and friends. In earlier years, Phyllis worked at the Apple Marketing Board, MacKenzies Creamery and after raising her family, she returned to work at Home Hardware. She enjoyed going to Ponhook Lake, it was one of her favourite spots. Phyllis will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her, and whose lives she touched. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Doug; sons, Craig (Pat) Cuvilier, Hantsport; Tony (Janet) Cuvilier, Upper Vaughans; daughters, Corinne LeBlanc, Dartmouth; Trudy (Alden) Daniels, Bedford; Trina (Jeff) Norman, Barrington; Lisa (Wallace) Daniels, Windsor Forks; sister, Gwen Brison, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Chris, Joey, Luke, Darcy, Jean-Pierre, Marc, Kyle, Tristan, Michael, Ian, Megan, Hannah, and great-grandchild Layton. Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by brother, Hugh, and a son in infancy. There will be no visitation by request of the family. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 16, at 2 p.m. in St. James United Church, Hantsport, Rev. Glennis Smith will officiate, with a private family interment in Riverbank Cemetery following the funeral service. Donations in memory may be made to the Haliburton Place, St. James United Church or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. Thanks to the staff of Haliburton Place for their compassion and loving care.
