91, Waterville, Kings Co., passed away Sunday October 28, 2007, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Auburn, Kings Co. he was a son of the late William and Annie (Keddy) Chase. Russell had been employed with the Department of Highways, as a snow plow driver, had been a farmer, gravel truck driver, carpenter, a foreman at the Minas Basin Gas Storage and had sold vegetables around the province. He was a member of the Waterville Baptist Church and had been a resident at the Grand View Manor, Berwick. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are a son, Edward Chase, Mississauga, Ont.; daughters, Rosie (Leo Gould) Reid, Waterville; Jeanie (Paul) Martin, Cambridge Station; Mary Lou Little, Waterville; 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Christina Mae Lake - Baldridge Chase; granddaughters, Nancy Chase & Clarice Falls; grandson, Brian Chase; great-grandson, Tyson Reid; brothers, Wallace, Carleton, William, Arch, Everett & Lester Chase; sisters, Rita & Gladys Chase. There will be visitation for Russell from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday October 31. Rev. Dr. Judith Saunders officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to: Waterville Baptist Church, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Grand View Manor or the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
