62, Viewmount, Kings Co. passed away Thursday November 29, 2007, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QE II. Born in Berwick, Kings Co. he was the youngest son of the late Frederick C. and Genevieve L. (Howell) Sweeney. Ken had worked for H.B. Morse for 30 years, and had worked as a truck driver for Sawlers Gardens Ltd. for the past eight years. Ken was an avid supporter of the Burlington Community Club, where he enjoyed playing darts. He loved and will be missed by his little dog, "Spike". Surviving are his loving wife of 38 years, Mary "Linda" (Shiels) Sweeney; son, Timothy (& his wife, Carola) Sweeney, Halifax; brother, Ronald (Gloria) Sweeney, Berwick; sisters, Marion (Myles) Balsor, Port George; Hilda (Morris, deceased) Ruggles, Perry Sound, Ont.; Helen (Fred, deceased) Wagstaff, Aylesford; Beatrice (Alan, deceased) Whittier, Somerset; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Robert, deceased) Sweeney, Berwick; brothers-in-law, Colin (Marie Pineo) MacDonald, Lakeville ; Lorimer (Shirley, deceased) Clem, Viewmount; numerous nieces & nephews; father & mother-in-law, Harold & Ruth Shiels, Belleville, Ont. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters, Eleanor Coleman, Freda MacDonald, Shirley Clem; brother, Robert Sweeney. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Monday December 3, in Christ Anglican Church, 238 Commercial Street, Berwick. Rev. Charles Bull officiating, with burial in the East Black Rock Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Cardiac Surgery Unit of the New Halifax Infirmary, QE II, or to Christ Anglican Church, Berwick.
