Keddy, Mary Jeanette, 79, of New Ross left us to join her husband, Leo and daughter, Anne Marie on February 9, 2007. Born in New Ross, she was a teacher, homemaker and operator of the Tastee Freeze with Neta Larder for a number of years. She then enhanced her reputation as a great cook at the Highwayman Restaurant, New Ross. Besides her cooking, Mary will be remembered for her window boxes at the house, quilting and her attendance at Bingo and card games. She will be greatly missed by her family at home: sons, Larry (Teresa) and Alden ( Donna Skerry); daughter, Bonnie (Dale) Broome; granddaughter, Veronica Keddy (Vince McNamara) Dartmouth; grandsons, Nicholas Broome (Rayanne Heisler) and Larry "Leo" Keddy ( Krista Hunter) and her special joy, great-grandson, Hudson Heisler-Broome, New Ross. Mary also has a brother, Patrick Larder and sister, Dorothy "Dot" (Laurence) Welner, New Ross. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Jeanette Larder; her husband, Leo; daughter, Anne Marie; brothers: Jim (James), Phillip and John. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 12 in Christ Anglican Church, New Ross. Rev. Leonard Bednar officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 79 ,New Ross. In lieu of flowers, donations of remembrance to the New Ross Volunteer Fire Department would be appreciated.
