Obituary of Gordon Durane Harris
Gordon D. Harris, age 87, of Berwick passed away peacefully at home on September 25, 2023, surrounded by his family. Born on June 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Hazel and Gordon Harris.
Gordon was born in Morristown, but lived all his life in Berwick. He was a hardworking and honest man, who loved his family dearly. Gordon was a well known paint contractor in the Berwick area for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; but as an animal lover, he never actually caught or killed anything.
Gordon preferred to stay close to home; and when he did travel, he managed to always cut the trip short for one reason or another. He was a great story teller, and people enjoyed hearing his stories over and over again.

Gordon will be remembered by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Harris; sons, Tony (Beverly) and Bryan (Holly), his ‘#1 daughter’, Darlene (Francis) Trahan, his ‘favourite daughter’ Tanya (Dave) Buckler; grandchildren, Mike, Tina, and Sharon; great-grandchildren, Ava and Blake; and his dearly loved pet, Spanky.
In additon to his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his sister, Connie; and brother (in infancy), Allison.
Cremation has taken place and at Gordon’s request there will be no service. Memorial donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses – Annapolis Valley. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
